Anxiously waiting

Last night the Christmas tree went up at the Cyrus house. I think this is the earliest in years. Usually I am called Scrooge for a week before any decorating happens. The shoe usually fits. But actually, I love Christmas and everything about it. As a kid I was always anxiously waiting for all the Christmas fun.

However, as Christians our perspective ought to be radically different from that of a kid waiting on a new toy. Our gift has already come. Emmanuel, God with us! Certainly, we celebrate the first coming of our Lord Jesus. At the same time we wait expectantly for our returning King. In the meantime, we should live our Christian life incarnationally. We should be Christ to the world. Not just at Christmas time.
