Independence Day

On July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the US Congress. This was a bold and articulate statement by the founders of our Nation. They firmly declared that freedom and liberty were vital rights and that it was necessary to break away from the tyrannical rule of the British Crown. Clearly, Congress understood these rights as sovereignly dispensed by God himself.

In celebration of this historic event, today there will be parades, cookouts and fireworks. Yet, many in the United States have never read the document. Others do not realize that the freedom we enjoy is a precious commodity unknown in other parts of the world. All of this we enjoy by the kindness and grace of God's providence. We thankfully recognize the boldness and foresight of our founders. We worship and praise our Heavenly Father for his guidance over our Nation.

Happy Independence Day!
